Raj Thackeray withdraws stir against Bachchans
Mumbai, Sep 11: A day after Amitabh Bachchan made a public apology for the anti-marathi comments said by his wife Jaya Bachchan on the audio release ceremony of Abhishek Bachchan's new movie Drona, Maharashta Navnirman Sena(MNS) chief Raj Thackeray said he is withdrawing the agitation against the Bachchans.
"I am taking back the stir against Bachchans. I am withdrawing the agitation after Amitabh's apology. It is a victory for the cause of Marathi manoos. Jaya Bachchan should have taken the effort. But as Big B being the head of the family came forward so I withdraw the stir", he added. Earlier Amitabh had said that Jaya Bachchan's words were not to humiliate and hurt anybody. On Tuesday, Sep 9 Amitabh Bachchan's movie 'The Last Lear's release was shelved due to MNS ban on Bachchans' movie and ads.
