Police officer suspended for allowing rally on Swami Laxmanananda
Kendrapada,Sep 11 (UNI) Salepur Police station officer-in-charge Pradeepta Kumar Jena was placed under suspension for allowing a rally on slain VHP leader Swami Laxmananada Saraswati in violation of prohibitory orders.
Acting on the direction of the State Home Department and the Director General of Police, a departmental proceeding was initiated against Mr Jena for his failure to prevent a rally, organized at Saheswari temple premises by Hindu Jagaran Sammukhya activists, on September 7 to pay homage to Swami Laxamananda on the eve of 'Sodasha Jatra'' The action was taken since State Home Secretary Tarunakanta Mishra had assured the Apex court that all possible measures would be taken to stop rallies in the state during the Sradhanjali Sabha of the slain VHP leader.
