Foreign firms interested to invest in Meghalaya
Shillong, Sep 11 (UNI) A number of foreign firms as well as some Indian companies have showed interest to invest in this Northeastern hilly state in the field of tourism, education and Information Technology.
Meghalaya Planning Board Chairman and former Lok Sabha Speaker P A Sangma said representatives from Canada and Russian companies had expressed desire to invest in various sectors in the state.
Mr Sangma said he had asked the MPA government to extend all possible support to investors and also identify the areas where the investors could carry out development work in the state.
Besides, parties from Andhra Pradesh, Maharastra and Rajasthan were keen to invest in the state which, according to him, was also encouraging with regard to setting up of private sector medical colleges in the state.
