Marriage assistance amount raised

Bhopal, Sep 10(UNI) Financial assistance being provided by the Madhya Pradesh government for girls from poor families has been raised from Rs 6,000 to Rs 7,500 keeping in view the prevailing price rise.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan made an announcement in this regard while addressing a state-level convention of self-help groups here yesterday.

Under the Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana, financial assistance is provided to solemnise the marriage of daughters, widows and deserted women belonging to economically weaker sections and disabled category.
