Kawnpui bandh affects transport

Aizawl, Sep 10(UNI) The Kawnpui Sub-Division Welfare Committee today started a 48-hour bandh demanding a community health centre and sub-divisional education office at Kawnpui under Kolasib police station.

Traffic on the National Highway 54 came to a grinding halt, with 50-60 goods and passengers vehicles getting stranded on the economic lifeline between Kawnpui and Kolasib till afternoon, police said.

Neither was it planned to give police escort to the stranded vehicles nor were there any talks between the concerned officials and agigators, sources informed.
