Court awards jail term to JD(U) MLA

Patna, Sept 10 (UNI) A division bench of Patna High Court today handed down three month jail term to a JD(U) MLA in a defamation case.

A division bench of Patna High Court comprised Justice Chandramouli Kumar Prasad and Justice Ravirajan found accused Narendra Kumar Pandey alias Sunil Pandey guilty under various sections of Indian Penal Code and handed him over three months jail term in a defamation of court case.

According to the charges, the accused MLA in an intoxicated state arrived at Bikramganj sub-divisional court following the hearing of a case on April 25, 2007, and behaved improperly with the designated judge.
