Conditional bail to DVAC official in phone tapping case
Chennai, Sep 10 (UNI) Madras High Court today granted conditional bail to Sankar, Special Assistant in Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC), who was arrested in connection with a telephone tapping case.
Mr Justice R Regupathy, granted bail on admitting a petition filed by Sankar, who had worked as an assistant to Mr S K Upadhyaya, the former DVAC Chief, who was suspended from service in connection with the case.
The Judge directed Sankar to furnish a bond for Rs 25,000 and two sureties for a likesum to the satisfaction of the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate.
The Judge also directed him to appear before the Crime Branch CID police, which was investigating the case, daily at 1030 hrs.
