Chouhan sets target to rid poverty in 5 years
Bhopal, Sep 10(UNI) Setting a target to get rid of poverty from Madhya Pradesh in next five years, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced that 40 lakh BPL (below poverty line) families would be brought above poverty line through livelihood programme.
Self-Help Groups would be provided loans at five per cent interest, training facilities, land at cheaper rates, marketing facilities besides Hat Bazars at all district headquarters, the Chief Minister said at a state-level convention of SHG here yesterday.
Integrated livelihood programme would be effectively implemented and products of SHGs may be directly purchased by government departments, he said, adding working capital subsidy upto Rs 25 lakh would be provided to SHG federations for constitution, conduct, branding, packaging and infrastructure development.
A livelihood centre would be set up for every two gram panchayats, he added.
