BJP workers stage blockade at railway station
Anuppur, MP, Sep 10 (UNI) Hundreds of BJP workers staged blockade at railway station and disrupted traffic demanding construction of under bridge in Anuppur town.
Led by BJP legislator Ramlal Rautel, party workers staged blockade at 1100 hours for about two-and-half hours affecting several trains.
Mr Rautel said the government had provided Rs 95 lakh for construction of under bridge but the Railways had not started work so far.
Bilaspur Divisional Railway Manager Ranbeer Singh, Anuppur Collector K K Khare, Superintendent of Police Guarav Rajput and railway police officials tried to calm them but failed.
Hundreds of party workers, including Mr Rautel, were arrested and train movement was restored. Agitators were released later.
Railway officials assured to start work on under bridge within a month.
