Landslide disrupts traffic on NH 53 in Manipur

Imphal, Sep 8 (UNI) A major landslide in Tamenglong district has disrupted normal traffic on NH 53, from Imphal to Jiribam.

Official sources today said due to landslide, caused by incessant rainfall large numbers of vehicles were stranded on both sides of the highway causing severe inconvenience to people as it is the main roadways.

Efforts were on to clear the highway, sources added.

Due to frequent landslides on NH 53 and NH 39 (from Imphal to Dimapur) state is facing shortage of essential commodities leading to steep hike in their prices, sources informed.
