Journalist's wife shot at by miscreants
Bhagua, Sep 7 (UNI) The wife of a senior journalist in Bihar was seriously injured when two unidentifed gunman shot at her at a place near the Chand police station in Kaimur district tonight.
District Police superintendent Rajesh Kumar said the incident took place when a Mr Deepak Pandey, a senior journalist of vernacular daily 'Hindustan', was returning home with his wife on a two wheeler.
They were intercepted by two armed miscreants who opened fire on the couple, leaving the journalist's wife seriously injured, Mr Kumar added.
On hearing the gun shots, some police personnel from the nearby police station rushed to the spot and nabbed the two assailants with the help of local people and seized their revolver.
The lady was also rushed to a nearby hospital.
However, Mr Pandey had a miraculous escape, Mr Kumar informed.
The motive behind the attack was not yet known, he said, adding, an FIR had been lodged in the local police station.
