Three Pak infiltrators killed in J
Srinagar, Sep 6 (UNI) Troops today foiled yet another infiltration attempt, the first during the holy month of Ramzan, in Jammu and Kashmir when they gunned down three heavily armed militants, official sources said.
They said the troops of 11 JAT noticed a group of militants sneaking into this side from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) at Tony post near the Line of Control (LoC) early this morning under the cover of darkness.
When challenged and asked to surrender near a particular area on this side, the militants opened fire. The troops fired in metaliation and in the fierce clash, three militants were killed.
This was the first infiltration attempt since the commencement of the holy month of Ramzan.
However, more than two dozen infiltrators were killed by the security forces during the past three months in different sectors in north Kashmir. About half a dozen security personnel, including a Colonel, also laid down their lives in these encounters.
