No internal bickering in Congress: Nabam Tuki
Itanagar, Sep 6 (UNI) Newly appointed Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President Nabam Tuki today denied any internal strife within the party.
Addressing his maiden press conference at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan here, the APCC chief said Congress was a big family and there might be some misunderstandings between members, but they were committed to strengthen the party.
Outlining his priorities for the party, Mr Tuki said he would constitute the APCC within a week after dissolving the existing one with the approval of the party's high command.
The committee would be represented by senior party functionaries to decide policy matters relating to the party, the state and the government, he said adding a few District Congress Committees (DCC) and Block Congress Committees (BCC), which were not functioning properly, would be re-constituted.
In order to strengthen the party, he would organise block level rallies, district and state level conventions to spread the messages of Congress President Sonia Gandhi and to highlight the achievements of the UPA government at the Centre, he informed.
''We would also invite our national leaders to address the proposed rallies and conventions,'' he added.
He also disclosed that the party would constitute manifesto, campaign and publicity committees soon for the forthcoming Parliamentary and Assembly polls.
When asked about the party's strategy to issue ticket to aspiring candidates, Mr Tuki emphatically said it was the prerogative of the high command and nobody should feel bad if they were denied ticket.
