DVC to set up four new ITIs in J'khand
Ranchi, Sep 6 (UNI) The Damodar Valley Corporation will set up four ITIs in Jharkhand to impart technical training to local youth, Union Minister of state for Commerce and Power Jairam Ramesh announced here today.
The minister said the four places identified were Hazaribagh, Bokaro, Chandrapura and Koderma with the ITI at Chandrapura was expected to be operational in two months.
He was adressing a gathering on the occasion of an MoU signed between HEC and BHEL here today.
The MoU was signed by chairman and managing director of HEC G K Pillai and CMD of BHEL Ravi Kumar in presnence of Union Minister of State (independent charge) or Food Processing, Union Minister of State for Heavy Industires and Public Enterprise Raghunath Jha, Principal Secretary to Prime Minister T K A Nair and host of dignitaries.
He said he came here after 45 years.
Mr Jairam Ramesh said the DVC was planning to reach the target of 3500 MW.
Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren said three acres would be given to DVC for constructuion of its office in the state capital.
