PM, Sonia leave for Salem
Chennai, Sep 5 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, All India Congress Committee (AICC) President and United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Chairperson Sonia Gandhi left here for Salem this afternoon by a special aircraft.
They were accompanied by Union Minister for Steel and Chemicals Fertilisers Ram Vilas Paswan and Union Minister of Shipping, Road and Transports T R Baalu.
They were seen off at the airport by Tamil Nadu Ministers M K Stalin, K K S R Ramachandran and Thangam Thennarasu.
The Prime Minister would launch the Salem Steel Plant expansion programme and Ms Gandhi would also be present.
