India responsible for floods in Nepal: Upendra Yadav
Kathmandu, Sep 5 (UNI) Nepal's Minister for Foreign Affairs Upendra Yadav today said that India should take the responsibility of devastation caused by the Kosi river, inundation and its aftermath, media reports said here today.
''The disaster occurred due to India's failure to act according to the Kosi Treaty,'' Kantipur quoted Mr Yadav as saying in Biratnagar.
Mr Yadav was in India recently and had met Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee and other leaders.
Millions of people had been affected following floods after the river embankment collapsed two weeks ago.
The government had allocated over Rs 2 billion for the flood-hit areas.
