Father of AACL secretary passes away in Kashmir

Srinagar, Sep 5 (UNI) Well known social reformer Haji Bashir Ahmed Khan, father of Zaffar Iqbal Khan Manhas, Secretary Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (AACL) passed away in south Kashmir last night, his family said today.

Khan (80), is survived by his six sons and four daughters.

He died after a prolonged illness at his Shopian residence.

Several social, religious and other organisations have expressed their grief and sorrow over the death of Khan.

The AACL in a condolence meeting also expressed deep shock over the demise of Haji Khan.
