Explosion in Chattisgarh High Court building

Bilaspur, Sep 4 (UNI) Panic prevailed in the Chhattisgarh High Court here today following a loud explosion on the terrace of the judges chamber.

No casualty was reported in the incident that took place at around 1100 hrs, police said.

Court sources said the loud bang disrupted the hearings of nearby two court rooms located on the first floor of the old building. Judges immediately suspended hearings and returned to their rooms.

Police personnel encircled the building and started search which revealed that a cracker was exploded.

''Further investigation is in progress ,'' Inspector General of Police Rajiv Chandra Shrivastav told UNI.

The sources said Chief Justice has expressed his concern over the incident despite having tight security in the court premises.
