Youth held for sending fake SMS on ex-CM

Kannur, Kerala, Sep 3 (UNI) Police arrested M Subair (24) of Mukkala, near Taliparamba, for sending SMS to 89 persons saying former Kerala chief minister K Karunakaran had died.

Police said the arrest was made after KPCC Member K Padmanabhan informed them about it.

Local reports said Subair again sent SMS saying Mr Karunakaran had not died.

Following the SMS, newspapers were flooded with calls enquiring about Mr Karunakaran's health condition.

Mr Karunakaran was admitted to the Christian Medial College Hospital at Vellore in Tamil Nadu on Monday following deterioration in his health condition.
