Tata Motors to expand capacity at various plants

New Delhi, Sep 3 (UNI) A day after its decision to suspend work at Singur plant, Tata Motors today said it is hiking capacity at its plants in Jamshedpur, Lucknow, Pune and Uttarakhand.

Describing the Singur move as a setback of sorts, Tata Motors MD Ravi Kant said the automaker expects to launch a whole range of products this year.

However, he refused to comment further on the Singur deadlock.

In its expansion plans, the company also plans to set four greenfield plants this year.

The company's Ranjangaon plant, in joint venture with Fiat in Maharashtra, will to come up in near term, he said.
