Last witness deposes in seperate '93 blasts trial
Mumbai, Sep 2 (UNI) The last prosecution witness in the separate 1993 serial blasts trial against extradited gangster Abu Salem, his associates and Dubai deported accused Mustafa Dossa alias Mustafa Majnu, today deposed before the designated TADA court, confirming involvement of the accused in the blasts that rocked the metropolis.
The witness Raman Tiyagi, superintendent of CBI Special Task Force, in his deposition before Judge U D Mulla, during his examination by chief public prosecutor Ujwal Nikam, said Salem and his associates- Riyaz Siddiki and Abdul Qaum Ansari- were arrested and interrogated by a team headed by him.
He said that during the interrogation, Salem had confessed his involvement in the crime he committed and expressed a desire to give a confessional statement, following which he had followed the procedure prescribed.
Tiyagi also gave details of the investigation carried out by him to the court. The defence will now cross examine him on September 5.
