IIM-Shillong launches course on 'managing the future'

Shillong, Sep 1 (UNI) The IIM-Shillong today launched its first management course on 'Managing the future: the sustainability business' crafted for the corporate leaders and change managers.

The programme is aimed at integrating environmental stewardships for better business strategy, operations and product designs, IIM, Shillong Professor Bhagirathi Panda told reporters here today.

''This course would lead to new ways of understanding, valuing and undertaking business and provide the required theoretical inputs and practical exposures to the top and senior corporate executives,'' Prof Panda said.

Dr Trudy Heller, the founder President of the Executive Education for the Environment will lead the programme supported by the IIM faculty members, he informed.

Dr Heller holds a double PhD from the Wharton School and from Temple University. She had taught at the School of Management in New Jersey Institute of Technology and also at The Wharton School.

Prof Panda said the Institute welcomes corporate leaders and managers in the public services to join hands in furthering the cause of sustainable management education and development.

The course which would begin on September 29 will also highlight how business sustainability is linked to environmental and social sustainability.
