Silambu temple gold-plated 'Kalasam' stolen
Puducherry, Sep 1: The gold-plated 'Kalasam' of a temple here was found stolen on Sunday, Aug 31.
According to police,the 'Kalasams' of the Silambu Muthumariyamman Temple at Tiruvalluvar Nagar here were installed in 2006 when the 'Kumbabhishekam' was performed.
During power cut from 7 pm to 9 pm in the area last night, some miscreants climbed atop the temple and broke the 2.5 foot-long 'Kalasam' before decamping with it.
On a complaint from Temple Trustee Narasimhan, police registered a case.
