Domestic property worth Rs 5 lakh gutted in fire

Kolhapur, Sep 1 (UNI) A fire broke out in a two-storey building at Kurundwad town in Shirol Tehsil of this district today, destroying properties worth Rs five lakh.

Police and Fire Department sources said the fire broke out in a house of one Gaus Bagwan, located in Gavali lane. Bagwan's brother Balasaheb was injured while trying to control the flames.

Property including ornaments, cash and wooden materials of the building were gutted in the fire. Fire engines from Shirol were called in.

The cause of the fire was not known as yet.
