Mysterious fever claims 12 lives in HP

Shimla, Aug 31 (UNI) Mysterious fever has claimed lives of 12 women in a week while large number of patients with complaints of high fever have been admitted in the IGMC here.

IGMC, Medical Superintendent, S S Minhas said four of the patients, who were admitted in the hospital died of scrub typhus and the remaining died due to high fever.

He said the most referred cases were from Bilaspur district and Rampur Subdivision of Shimla district.

However, he said situation was not alarming and there was no danger of epidemic. He said during rainy seasons the cases of the fever marginally increases.
