BSF deputy-commandant killed in accident in Bengal
Coochbihar, Aug 30(UNI) A deputy-commandant of Border Security Force (BSF) was killed after a jeep carrying him fell on the River Dhorla at Depaldaha under Dinhata police station in the district today.
The vehicle, carrying the driver, constable and BSF deputy commandant Bijoy Bir Singh, lost control while patrolling on the banks and plunged into the river at around 1230 hours, SP(Coochbihar) Debendra Prakash Singh said.
While the driver and the constable managed to swim safely on the surface, the body of Mr Singh was recovered later, Mr Singh further informed.
