Fatehpuri Shahi Imam for ban on Bajrang Dal;
New Delhi, Aug 29 (UNI) Expressing deep concern over the violence against Christians in Orissa, the Shahi Imam of Fatehpuri Maulana Mufti M Mukaram Ahmed today demanded a high level judicial enquiry and a ban on the Bajrang Dal.
In his address during the Friday prayers, the Shahi Imam also said that the Holy month of 'Ramazan' may start on September 2. In this regard, the meeting of Royal Hilal (Moon sighting ) committee will be held on September 1 at 7.15 pm, he said.
Expressing concern over the brutal killings of Christians in Orissa, the Shahi Imam said,''We are sad over such dreadful communal activities and creating of nuisance by such organisations.'' Terming the incidents of violence in Orissa as harmful for the unity and integrity of the country, the Shahi Imam said,''their cruel acts do not deserve to be forgiven. We demand to register cases against them and ban these parties.'' He also expressed concern over the explosion in the posh area of Kanpur in which two Bajrang dal workers were killed while making bombs there.

Jaipur,
Malegaon,
Mumbai
and
Delhi,
the
Shahi
Imam
said,''we
demand
Prime
Minister
Manmohan
Singh
and
UPA
Chairperson
Sonia
Gandhi
to
impose
ban
on
such
communal
organisations
without
any
delay.''
