Dy CM rules out privatisation of MSRTC

Sangli, Maharashtra, Aug 29 (UNI) Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil today ruled out any proposal about privatisation of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC).

Speaking at a function organised to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Kavathe-Mahankal MSRTC depot here, Mr Patil said, ''The state government is making efforts to make MSRTC competent.'' During the current financial year MSRTC has earned Rs 158 crore profit in the state, in which Sangli division's share is of Rs 17 crore, Mr Patil added.
