Pondy officials appear before privilege committee
Puducherry, Aug 28 (UNI) Mr A K Singh, former Secretary to the Puducherry Administration who was transferred to New Delhi, Director General of Police (DGP) A S Khan and Director of Information Department Krishnasamy today appeared before the privileges committee of the territorial administration on issue of certain objectionable remarks allegedly made by former Chief Secretary Rakesh Bihari on the council of ministers.
Deputy Chairman A Anbazhagan conducted the sitting as the Chairman of the committee.
Deputy Speaker A V Sreedharan could not make it today because of the CLP meeting.
The committee which heard the statements from the trio adjourned the meeting without specifying any date.
It may be noted that Mr Bihari in a review meeting reportedly made certain ''objectionable'' remarks against the council of ministers. Three legislators objecting to it had urged the speaker to initiate action and the speaker referred it to the privileges committee of the assembly.
