Five new NTPC Board directors appointed
Kolkata, Aug 28 (UNI) The Union Ministry of Power has announced new appointments for the post of five non-official part time directors on the Board of National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) for a period of three years.
Former Union Secretary M N Buch, former Member of Railway Board Shanti Narain, former Coal India Ltd CMD P K Sengupta, former Indian Institute of Foreign Trade(IIFT) DG K Dharamrajan and National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP) Director Dr Govinda Rao Marapalli, had been assigned for the posts, an NTPC release today said.
It added that with the appointment of five new independent directors, the NTPC Board of Director now comprised six functional directors, two government nominees and nine independent directors.
It further informed that the composition of the Board was now in line with the provision of Clause 49 of the Listing Agreement executed with the Stock Exchange by NTPC Ltd.
