Bomb hoax on Chennai-bound train
Nagpur, Aug 28 (UNI) The Chennai-bound Grand Trunk (GT) Express from New Delhi was delayed for about half an hour at Nagpur railway station today after a bomb hoax.
The city police control room received a telephone call from a person, who identified himself only as 'Mohanlal', claiming that there was a bomb on a 'train travelling to Tirupati', police said.
The caller also gave a mobile phone number and claimed that 'further details' could be obtained from it, they said.
The city police alerted their counterparts in the Government Railway Police (GRP), who carried out a check on the GT Express after it rolled into the station. However, nothing suspicious was found, they said.
Incidentally, members of the Passenger Amenities Committee (PAC) of the Railway Board also arrived here on a visit on board the same train.
The GRP men were keeping a watch on all South-bound trains passing through Nagpur, police added.
