Adivasi Mahasabha accused police of fake encounter
Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, Aug 25 (UNI) Adivasi Mahasabha National Chairman Manish Kunjam has written a letter to the Dantewara Superintendent of Police alleging that five people had been killed in a fake encounter by police in Arampalli on August 11.
Police had claimed that three Naxals were killed during the encounter.
He stated that police took the bodies of Vetti Soni (20), Sodi Hadme (19) and Madwai Joga (23). He said the bodies of Vetti Lakshmi (21) and Madwi Ayata (23) had been abandoned in bushes in the forest.
Mr Kunjam claimed that police had killed innocent tribals in the name of encounter. The bodies of the deceased were not handed to family members despite request by them.
He said police had claimed that they had seized large number of weapons from Naxals but truth was that ultras do not possess weapons in large number.
He demanded an inquiry into the matter and lodging murder case against guilty policemen.
