Wife arrested for killing husbandin Orissa
Rourkela, Aug 23 (UNI) The Bonai police arrested woman and took her to court today on charges of killing her husband.
Police said her husband Mohmed Fayaz (42) used to return home in a drunken state and beat his wife Mamtaz Begum everyday. He returned home in a drunken condition as usual on the night of August 13 and assaulted her.
When Fayaz fell down, his wife allegedly picked up a stone and hit him on the head, killing him on the spot.
She then put the body in a gunny bag and buried it in her courtyard.
Later, Mamtaz met her father-in-law Mahmed Ahetasam and told him that her husband had gone out of the house after taking Rs 25,000 cash.
When Fayaz remained untraced for 10 days, his father suspected foul play and reported the matter to police.
During police investigation, Mamtaz admitted killing her husband.
Police recovered the body in the presence of the District Magistrate yesterday and sent it for post-mortem.
