Union Minister calls for joint participation of corporates, NGOs
Kakinada, Aug 22 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Defence M M Pallamraju today called upon the corporate sector and Non-Governmental Organisations to participate in the welfare and development schemes initiated by the government.
Addressing a joint meeting of the representatives of corporate bodies and NGOs at the Collectorate here, the Minister wanted joint participation for effective implementation of welfare schemes such as Rajiv Education Mission and National Rural Health Mission.
He opined that concerted efforts would yield the desired results for the benefit of the society.
He announced that a coordination committee at the district level, with the Collector as the Chairman, was being constituted to ensure participation of corporate sector and the NGOs in the welfare scheme implementation.
The committee would meet once in three months and review the situation and take necessary measures for effective implementation of the schemes, he added.
East Godavari Collector Gopalakrishna Dwivedi said a comprehensive action plan was being formulated for the effective implementation of schemes.
Representatives of ONGC, GAIL, Reliance, Caine energy, GMR, GFCL, NFCL and various NGOs attended the meeting.
