Soz assures Badal of early nod to Punjab's projects

New Delhi, Aug 22 (UNI) Union Minister for Water Resources Saifuddin Soz today assured Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal of Centre's early decision on various projects and proposals submitted by the State government to his Ministry.

Punjab government has sought release of first instalment of funds for Sirhind feeder canal besides approval of project for rehabilitation of major canals in the state. It also requested funds for Shahpur Kandi Dam and to undertake flood protection works.

During their meeting here, the two leaders, accompanied by senior officials of the Central and State government, made a detailed review of the submissions made by the Punjab government.
