TN not supporting wind mill owners: BJP
Coimbatore, Aug 21 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Tamil Nadu unit President L Ganesan today said wind mill owners were shifting their investment to other states like Karnataka and Gujarat as the state had failed to provide proper support to them.
Talking to newspersons here, he said the state Electricity minister has been claiming that the Nuclear agrement with the US will provide more power to the state. But even if this was true, it will take another 15 to 20 years.
To a question, Mr Ganesan said like other political parties, the BJP was also talking to some like minded parties for an alliance for the next Lok Sabha elections and it will take proper shape only when the election was declared.
Asked about the Hogenakkal issue, he said the state unit would work to safeguard the interests of Tamil Nadu and he would raise his voice during the national level executive meeting scheduled to be held at Bangalore soon.
He said the Union Government failed to include qualified sportspersons in the Olympic squad and said the Rashtriya Swayam Sevaks (RSS) supported ''Vanavasi Kalyam Asram'' was training tribals in sports.
The Union Government had not included qualified tribals in the Olympic squad eventhough they were capable of bringing home medals, he alleged.
