TISS publishes report on Sardar Sarovar Project in Indore

Mumbai, Aug 21 (UNI) The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) today published a joint report on the 'Performance and Development Effectiveness of the Sardar Sarovar Project' (SSP) in Indore.

The report was released by Shabana Azmi, noted film actor and a human rights activist, at St Raphael's Girls Higher Secondary School in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

The event was jointly organised by TISS, Mumbai, and the Centre for Environment Protection and Research, Indore, a TISS release said here.

The report has weighed the benefits of the SSP like irrigation, drinking water and power generation with the financial costs, human (displacement&rehabilitation) and environmental costs.
