PM asks Dasmunsi, Anbumani to resolve CGHS for mediapersons
New Delhi, Aug 21 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today set up a three-member Ministerial committee, including Health Minister Anbumani Ramodass and Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi, to resolve the problems relating to extending CGHS facilities to accredited mediapersons and their family members.
Mr Prithviraj Chavan, MoS in the PMO who is in charge of the Department of Personnel and Training, is the other member of the committee, Mr Dasmunsi told reporters.
Dr Singh entrusted the issue with the three Ministers at the weekly Cabinet meeting. Mr Dasmunsi had earlier clarified that his Ministry had recommended that mediapersons and their family members should continue to get all CGHS facilities which were first offered to them when Rajiv Gandhi was Prime Minister.
The facilities were recently curtailed and not extended to family members due to financial consideration.
The ministerial committee would come out with its views within this month, Mr Dasmunsi said.
