Pak troops again violate ceasefire in Kashmir
Srinagar, Aug 21 (UNI) Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire yet again and attacked Indian posts in Nowgam sector early this morning, official sources said today.
They said Pakistani troops fired towards Indian forward posts in Nowgam sector at 0500 hrs.
However, this time Indian troops also retaliated and silenced the Pakistani guns. There was no report of any damage on this side, they said adding causalties suffered by Pakistan were not immediately known.
This was the third violation by Pak troops during the last eight days.
On August 16, a soldier Naresh Kumar was killed when Pakistani troops fired in Uri sector. On the same day, they violated the ceasefire in Keran sector. However, no one was injured.
Besides, earlier this month, Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire twice in Nowgam sector, killing a soldier.
Pakistan and Indian government had announced a ceasefire on the LoC and International border in Jammu and Kashmir in 2003.
