Operation Lotus set loose in municipalities by the BJP

Hubli, Aug 21 (UNI) The BJP has extended its Operation Lotus programme of breaking the opposition ranks by luring four members Congress and one from JDS today to join the saffron party in Haveri city municipality.

The district in charge minister C M Udasi welcomed all the new members at a function held at government guest house today.

Incidentally BJP was already in majority with 20 seats out of a total of 31.

Similarly the party had gained majority in Mysore city corporation by taking to their fold some opposition members recently.
