Nagaland: Miscreants shoot dead GB in Dimapur

Kohima, Aug 21: Unidentified gunmen shot dead a Gaon Burah (GB) of Railway Bazaar colony, Peiningbo Zeliang, at his residence in Dimapur near here.

Official sources today said the assailants shot the GB from point blank range yesterday, killing him on the spot, and fled from the scene.

Police later recovered two empty cases of .9mm and 7.65mm bullets from the spot.

An FIR has been registered under IPC 302 and Arms Act and further investigation was on to ascertain the involvement of underground groups and the cause of murder, the sources added.

Meanwhile, the GB association today called for closure of all shops in Dimapur town for 12 hours in protest against the killing of their member.
