Criminal dies in police encounter in Ghazipur

Ghazipur, Aug 21: A criminal was gunned down in a police encounter in Kareemuddinpur area here this morning.

The outlaw was intercepted by the sleuths near Pradhapur village.

However, he opened fire upon the police with an aim to escape but died in the retaliatory firing by the cops.

The deceased was yet to be ascertained, Superintendent of Police (SP) Brijraj Meena said.

A pistol had been seized from him, the SP added.
