Aurobindo Pharma gets initial USFDA nod for losartan tabs

New Delhi, Aug 21 (UNI) Drugmaker Aurobindo Pharma Ltd today said it has received a tentative approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for its generic losartan potassium tablets in multiple strengths.

The drug is the generic equivalent of Merck and Co Inc's anti-hypertensive Cozaar tablets, which had sales of 1.24 billion dollars in 2007, a company statement said.
