Nitish asks Goa HM to apologise for his comments on Biharis

Patna, Aug 20 (UNI) Condemning the Goa home minister's comments in which he had stated that beggers from Bihar would reach Goa in case a direct train was introduced between Goa and Patna, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today asked Mr Naik to apologise for his remarks.

Addressing newspersons here, Mr Kumar said Mr Naik should offer unconditional apology to the people of Bihar for lowering their dignity.

Political leaders should abstain from making such derogatory remarks, he said adding that the people of Bihar had great respect for the people of Goa and such statements of Mr Naik would not alter the mentality of Bihari as they would continue to honour the residents of other states.

'' Biharis were not at all beggers, instead they were labourious and talented,'' he said adding that the people of Bihar have excelled all over the world on the basis of their skill and efficiency.
