Oz metrosexuals love to shop till they drop!

Melbourne, Aug 19 : Most metrosexuals in Australia love beer, football - and going shopping, according to a new research.

Researchers for Australia's biggest monthly men's magazine Alpha have revealed figures, which show that men between 18 to 35 spend 162 dollars a month on clothes - only 18 dollars less than an average woman.

The survey of 1,100 men aged between 18 and 59 across NSW, Victoria and Queensland was conducted by Jigsaw Strategic Research to coin a new breed of sports mad stylish men as 'Generation Active'.

It showed 85 five per cent of Aussie blokes eat at cafes and restaurants, 78 per cent go to pubs, 74 per cent play sport, 71 per cent work out at the gym, 77 per cent play video games - while 68 per cent shop for fun more than once a week.

Alpha editor Rob Pegley, who is relaunching a new look magazine, said that young men wanted to play sport and look good.

"Generation Active have been exposed to style and grooming brands from a much younger age and have more disposable income to spend on them," the Daily Telegraph quoted Pegley, as saying.
