People take holy dip as lunar eclipse passes-off
Varanasi, Aug 17 (UNI) Lakhs of people today took a holy dip in river Ganga here after the lunar eclipse came to an end this morning.
People had started arriving the holy city late last night.
On the occasion, the people gave alms to beggars near the ghats and also visited various temple.
The holy bath commenced early in the morning and continued till late in the evening, reports stated.
The district administration had made elaborate security arrangements on the occasion. The jawans of jal police and divers were also engaged in service with life saving equipment to combat any untoward incident.
