Husband-wife commit suicide by consuming poison

Phagwara, Aug 17 (UNI) A couple allegedly committed suicide by consuming poisonous substances at their residence in nearby Puadherra village last night.

An official report today said that while the husband, Ranjit Kumar died at a private nursing home in Phillaur last night, the wife, Paramjit Kaur who was refered to Ludhiana, died in a hospital there. The deceased couple had left behind two kids -- a son and daughter.

The cause of the suicide was not yet known. The police has registered a case and are investigating the manner.
