Hooda inaugurates power sub station
Karnal, Aug 17 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today inaugurated the newly constructed 220 KV substation, Unispur set up by the Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam at a cost of Rs 58.50 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, he said, the HVPN and UHBVN had made a comprehensive plan to strengthen power transmission and distribution system in the district. A sum of Rs 300 crore would be spent on this during the next two years.
He said that as the district was a major paddy producer had a major role in providing paddy to the state kitty. The Government has directed the Power Utilities to ensure that strenuous efforts are made to supply uninterrupted power to the farmers.
He said that the sub-station has been connected with 220 KV substation Karnal for getting electricity from the Thermal Plant at Panipat. It would be connected with another system in December under which the substation would also be able to transmit electricity generated at Thermal Plant in Yamunanagar.
