AP: Decentralisation key to efficient administration
Machilipatanam, Aug 16: Andhra Pradesh Governor N D Tiwari today said only democratic decentralisation was the key to efficient administrative set up in the country.
Speaking at the Krishna Zilla Parishad(KZP) Second Anniversary here, he said in a vast country like India the 'top authority' approach could not be an efficient tool as far as administrative machinary is concerned.
He said these limitations have to be overcome by following the adoption of Panchayati Raj System in the country.
Mr Tiwari also said he was pleased to know that Krishna Zilla Parishad was the first to receive the prestigious ISO 9001-2000 Accreditation in 2007.
This makes KZP a role model for other grass-root agencies in the state as well as the country, he said, adding this speaks volumes about the political will and commitment for the development of villages in the district by KZP.
The Governor said he was told that this year also two Mandal Parishads of Zilla Parishad have been awarded ISO 9001-2000 certification which was worthy of emulation by all other Mandal Parishads.
