Assam celebrates I-day amidst bomb blast
Guwahati, Aug 15 (UNI) Assam today celebrated the 62nd Independence Day with the rest of the nation amidst reports of three bomb blasts in lower Assam.
Two people were injured in the three bomb blasts at Kajalgon of Chirang district, Mahamaya in Goalpara district and Dharamsala in Dhubri district.
Unfurling the flag at Guwahati, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi appealed for peace and asserted that his government would expel all the Bangladeshis.
However, there was no report of any violence in central and lower parts of Assam.
